From one sound to another, by a gesture of the fingers sweeping the keys, each note is made to sing on this fabulous instrument which is exceptionally alive : the piano . The piano, personified as heart and body. The heart beats to the emotions that we invest. The body, a complex mechanism, brings out all the magic of a sound that is the fruit of the gesture. This chemistry brings about a choreography where profound emotion merges with a thourough technique, subliming the musical artistry. This artistry finds its source in the scores of the greatest composers and their fine writing. The magic is still at work. Simona GLAVAN understands this process early in her musical beginnings. In Romania, at the age of 5, she enters the class of Stella CAMENITA at the Georges Enesco music school. The prelude, the first note.
Simona GLAVAN continues her studies at the Music School Settlement in Cleveland, Ohio, where she meets the Russian born concert pianist Eleonora Lvov. An extended and enriching collaboration begins which spans over a period of 8 years having as highlight the first prize in the Concerto Competition for three consecutive years, performances in the “Live with the Arts” festival in Cleveland and the enrollement in a Piano Performance Degree at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Different performances are to follow at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Baldwin Wallace University, Oberlin Conservatory and the Chautauqua Festival in New York. Simona GLAVAN distinguishes herself as a student of merit ranking in the top 2% of the USA. In 1994 she obtains her degree from Oberlin in the class of Peter Takacs and is rewarded with the Dean’s High Honors list for her outstanding academic achievements.
The journey continues in France where she settles, performing concerts in several countries of Europe. Three musical figures will join Simona GLAVAN and inspire her: Vadim SAKHAROV, Vladimir KRAINEV and Stella CAMENITA . From one artist to another. These encounters lead to a perfected vision of her art, to another insight on a more subtle level to reach, the elegance of technique and of a refined sound. Vladimir KRAINEV instills the first steps of a fine and colorful interpretation by entering the heart of the piano to exceed its limits. Simona GLAVAN is inspired and creates her own interpretation of eloquence that she applies with the extreme precision of Stella CAMENITA
Simona GLAVAN records with Nicolas BARTOLOMÉ, an exceptional sound engineer, in the mythical studio TIBOR VARGA in Sion (Switzerland). With the MUSICA NUMERIS team, a collaboration that gives birth to a recording of exceptional sound quality. A repertoire of predilection that portrays the apotheosis of MOZART, BEETHOVEN and SCHUBERT’s style.
